Favorite Toys: Wana

One of my favorite things about cats is their playfulness.  From the times they are kittens to when they are old grumps, the cats love to play.  The older ones typically will just swipe their paws at you as you walk by while kittens run up your leg.  Wana and Miel love to play, whether it is just attacking each other, sliding around on the ground under the couch or attacking our feet under the covers.  When Wana was a kitten he was very intense about his play.

He likes whips a lot, but his true love are foam balls.  He loves to bat them around the apartment and sprint them.  Also add into the fact that our apartment is not level and so all toys wind up either in the closet or in the bathroom.  Sometimes he'll just sit outside of the closet and cry when a toy winds up in there.  Sigh.  This usually happens when we are watching a TV show or movie.

While Miel's favorite toy is the shiny soft glitter balls, Wana loves these foam balls. Here is a compilation of him playing around with them.

I also want to call out that the reason the camera fell at the end was because miel was sniffing it and rubbed against it.  After the camera fell she ran away.  Wana was confused.

Weekday Morning Routine

So, the big worry I have about this blog is running out of material too quick.  Our cats have major quirks, but there is only so much that can happen in a tiny apartment, right?  Well, probably not.  Our cats always find new ways to keep us entertained. Anyhow, Miel's latest thing is being obsessed with the bathroom.  When Megan and I walk towards the area of our apartment, Miel will sprint by us, jump on the toilet and bound to the sink.  Best part is we usually are just going to the bedroom.  Miel just loves getting pet at a convenient height for us, thus ensuring maximum petting time.  She is weird.  Sometimes she'll fall off though, which always provides entertainment.

It is all worth it

We discovered that Miel will also dig at the sink when there is water in the sink.  Also if the sink is running.

Never to be outdone by his sister, Wana hopped into the shower soon after these pictures.  He is a big attention hog.

Both cats became very wet in the taking of these pictures.  Oddly enough, they don't mind when it is self inflicted.
